Let’s All Roll Up Our Sleeves: A Message from Our CEO
This time last year, I thought the world would have reopened and normalcy would have resumed by now. I hope that you and your loved ones have stayed safe and healthy over these past 18 months and discovered silver linings amidst the many challenges.
As everyone is well aware, we went through an unprecedented year. In addition to the complications of the pandemic, there were profound and lasting shifts in international relations, global economy, and the overall macro environment.
As we all continue to overcome this virus, EnviroVac requests that everyone stays focused on three priorities: First, the safety of everyone is paramount. We can only make positive contributions and live our purpose and values if we stay healthy and avoid spreading the virus. Second, business continuity is key. We need to stay focused and follow protocols and procedures at all times when it comes to the pandemic, everyone and every business. Third, to the extent you can, always provide kindness and a helping hand.
While we had hoped that the virus was being eradicated with the vaccine; there is the reality of the Delta Variant. This is another disheartening step backwards when we should be focused on continuing our recovery. So, my message this month is going to focus on the vaccine.
Many of our accounts are re-implementing the mask mandate. In addition to the heart-wrenching thought of more illness and death, I fear that progressively more restrictive measures, including a return to social distancing and capacity restrictions, could be around the corner, if we continue on this path. This would be a significant blow to our community, our industry, our economy and the world.
So please, I implore you to get the vaccine as soon as possible. It is safe, and it is effective. If you’re still unsure, ask your doctor — the person you trust most to provide informed, professional medical advice regarding the health of you and your family, not the media.
A low vaccination rate puts everyone at risk and on the path towards overcrowded hospitals, more COVID-19 related deaths, a downturn in tourism traffic and potentially more furloughs and layoffs like those experienced in the throes of the economic shutdown last year. Nobody wants this.
Thank you and let us all look towards a more caring and beautiful future together!
